Acknowledgements

The riders and organisers of the Gambia — Sand to Sea challenge ride 2014 would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the following organisations.
First and foremost, we thank our own devoted and highly professional support team of — in alphabetical order — Muna Affara, Mamina Bojang, Josie Cardell, Annette Erhart, Beate Kampmann, Lindsay Kendall, Kirsty Le Doare, Margaret Pinder and Loredana Tawiah, without whose help the ride could never have been a success, never mind a pleasure.

We must of course also thank the many individuals – named and unnamed – who donated money to the Chain of Hope charity. Most of these are listed on our JustGiving page, but we also had contributions from:

Banjul Diners Club
Aminatta Houma Colin
Badou Gaye
Alagie Basiru Gaye
Amat Gaye
Steward Scott
Party 'Kidz'

Then, we would like to give special thanks to:

The Gambia Police Force, and especially our great escort rider Lamin
Pete (for supplying and driving the 'Orangina' tour bus)
Bob the Builder (djembe playing at the finish)
MEC-SAC (offer of trailer)
MRC Basse Operations Department (accommodation at Basse)
MRC Basse Bantaba (dinner and breakfast at Basse, plus a splendid packed lunch)
MRC Fajara Transport Department for supplying a truck and driver
MRC Fajara Security for invaluable advice and support

We would also like to thank our friends in the Gambian Press and media for the coverage we received, and especially:
Observer newspaper
The Point newspaper
West Coast Radio

And finally, we sincerely thank Mr Jobarteh (father of Modou Lamin, a Chain of Hope recipient who underwent surgery last year) for all his hard work on community sensitisation in Soma and Brikama and for setting up two radio interviews.
